SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman Labor Day Words Exclude EIDL, PPP Loan Problems

Isabella Casillas Guzman, the Small Business Administration Administrator, issued a statement for Labor Day 2021, but left out how she was going to fix the problem where millions who are eligible for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (or EIDL) have not received them. Moreover, the Pandemic only highlighted problems black business owners face, and while the Small Business Administration has worked to put out media that it’s trying to help black businesses, the real picture tells otherwise.

I have documented how SBA EIDL workers have treated me in simply trying to get an EIDL increase (having me submit the same 4506-T document several times, not using ZENNIE62MEDIA’s EIN and DUNS Number, and insisting on evaluating the firm as if its a sole-proprietorship rather than a c-corporation, not to mention the whole matter of saying I did not submit ZENNIE62MEDIA 2019 Tax Forms, when I proved, again and again, that they were sent in). The crazy game has gone on for a year now, and without any sight toward an end game of getting the loan I was told ZENNIE62MEDIA was eligible for.

And I am far from the only American and Black American to have faced or are facing this problem with the SBA and the EIDL, not to mention the SBA Payroll Protection Program and its so-called PPP Loan Forgiveness Process. Still dealing with that.

American Government is supposed to solve problems, not cause new ones on top of what one is already faced with. From that measure, American Government has failed its people at the time its needed the most – now.

The picture that’s being painted is that there’s a lot of fraudulent actors trying to get loans. That’s a load of crap. The real thing going on is that, for some reason, the Small Business Administration has set up a system where it’s harder to gain loans under President Biden than under Donald Trump. I thought the idea was to get money to business, not use the process to use prejudices about people to determine who gets help.

The SBA has tried on more than one occasion to paint black-owned ZENNIE62MEDIA in a bad light, and only proven that they hire people from anywhere who do not know what a c-corporation is, let alone how an online-based business works. So, me having two different URLs for my company (ZENNIE62MEDIA.com and ZENNIE62MEDIA.net) looks like fraud to the SBA. How do I know? Because a frustrated SBA Lawyer told me “I don’t see how anyone can assume your business is not real because you have two different URLs, but that’s what happened.” I mean is that nutso crazy or what?

All of that and more SBA silly-stuff has gone on, and yet Ms. Guzman has found time to issue a Labor Day Statement:

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman released the following statement to commemorate Labor Day:

“Labor Day is a time to honor the unending strength, creativity and determination of the American workers who are the backbone of our nation. Our workers – which include the 61.2 million employed by our nation’s 32 million small businesses – keep our communities safe and vibrant and our economy strong.  They have demonstrated inspiring resilience over the past year and a half and are leading the way as our country recovers and rebuilds from a global pandemic.  There is one group of workers in particular that I’d like to recognize for their incredible dedication and commitment over the past 18 months, and that’s the mission-driven federal workforce at the U.S. Small Business Administration. These dedicated civil servants continue to go above and beyond to ensure our nation’s entrepreneurs have the tools, resources and support they need to recover and rebuild.  I couldn’t be more proud to lead them.”

She’s recognizing the federal workforce at the U.S. Small Business Administration because of the hot criticism they have faced. Rather than circle the wagons against the millions of black businesses who need the SBA’s help, why not say that the problems will be eliminated right now, and so we can get black businesses the working capital they need to survive? That’s not too much to ask for.

Stay tuned.
