Oakland News Now – Saied Karamooz, Cat Brooks, Pamela Price all Oakland Mayoral Race candidates, are scheduled to meet this Monday at 9:30 am PDT at Oakland City Hall Plaza for a press conference.

The reported reason for the press conference concerns welcoming members of the National Temporary Protected Status Alliance or “National TPS.”

National TPS describes a provisional legal protection from deportation that is given to migrant who are unable to return to their home countries due to environmental disasters or social conflicts. For example the Haiti Earthquake created a situation in that country that makes returning to it difficult for natives to had to leave and are in America. But that is not the only reason for the press conference.

Saied Karamooz, Cat Brooks, Pamela Price Teaming Up For Oakland Mayoral Race RCV?

The other reason would seem to be to announce Saied Karamooz, Cat Brooks, Pamela Price as Oakland Mayoral Race Rank Choice Voting Team (although Cat Brooks said to me that was not the case). In Oakland RCV, Oaklanders can pick candidates for office in rank order, one, two, three. Price, Brooks and Karamooz will, this blogger believes, take time to ask voters to pick them in some order in accordance with Rank Choice Voting.

Stay tuned.
