Lost rooster at 40th and Shafter

Hi all,
my neighbor and i just corralled a very friendly (and vocal) rooster at the corner of 40th and Shafter. he was wandering loose by the car wash. does he “belong” to anyone in the neighborhood? i know roosters are only allowed in city limits for less than 24 hrs so wondering if he is on loan to anyone nearby.

And…

I’m tired of being worried about your cat being lost

Hello, neighbors. Please know that I’m an animal lover, but I’m also a responsible neighbor. The other day, my wife and I and a next-door neighbor took a couple of hours out of our day to “rescue” a lost cat. It had a collar, but no visible tag or phone number. We finally broke away from our work to bring it to a vet who scanned it for a chip, and the vet kept it for the owner to pick up. Cut to the next day, and the same cat is hanging around our apartment complex. Clearly, this was a neighbor’s cat and was not lost. The responsible, neighborly thing here is to put a tag on your pet with a Google Voice number or a direct cell number so that your neighbors are not needlessly taking time to try to reunite you with your cat. From a bird lover perspective, I’m also concerned about your cat’s roaming, so I’d actually prefer that you keep cats indoors. But please, at the very least, show that your cat is taken care of with a collar and a tag. Don’t make me waste my time getting your cat scanned for no reason. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Okay! In the past, we’d have just searched for the cat, and been done with it!

Stay tuned.

Note from Zennie62Media and Oakland Now: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a ger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of , interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
