Shelter Beds in West and
St. Vincent de Paul Open Again Sunday, Providing Respite for Unsheltered Residents

, CA – Air quality remains at “unhealthy” levels in , impacting sensitive and vulnerable populations, including our unsheltered residents. Shelter beds are available at two shelters—one in West and the other in .

The City’s year-round shelter at St. Vincent de Paul, located at 675 23rd Street in West , has beds available for the homeless tonight. Shelter beds can be secured through referral, reservation, and walk-up on a first come-first served basis. Persons seeking shelter should contact St.Vincent de Paul directly at (510) 638-7600.

In , the Community Project (EOCP) will open 10 additional shelter beds starting tonight to ensure that we have adequate emergency response for people who are homeless in . The beds can be accessed by walking into Crossroads Shelter at 7515 International Blvd.

For unsheltered residents looking for an indoor reprieve from the unhealthy, smoke-laden air, tomorrow St. Vincent de Paul will once again open its doors all day from 9:30 am – 3:00 pm as a drop-in respite center.

In addition, the Main Library, located at 125 14th Street, is scheduled to be open tomorrow from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
