Atlanta Falcons Should Fire Dave Ragone Offensive Coordinator – Response To Comments

During the Atlanta Falcons horrible preseason offensive showing against the Tennessee Titans, which resulted in a halftime performance so lacking in the execution of fundamental football, that A.J. McCarron was 3 of 10 passes for 23 yards.

For the game, McCarron was 5 of 12 for 36 yards, and his backup Feleipe Franks was 2 of 9 for 16 yards. The passer rating for the duo was an embarassing 22.52.

When you have a performance that bad, the eyes are on the offensive coordinator. The job of Dave Ragone is to make sure all of the offensive players run the plays the offensive staff installs – he, Ragone, is the boss of the staff, with the final say-so from the Head Coach, Arthur Smith. Smith calls the plays, but that is different from coaching the players and installing the plays. That falls to Ragone.

This is his first job as an NFL Offensive Coordinator. He was passing game coordinator for the Chicago Bears for several years, then quarterbacks coach before that had jobs as receivers coach, quality control coach, and quarterbacks coach, before getting the promotion to passing game coordinator while with the Bears.

Both Smith and Ragone have to understand that more is expected at this level than was presented. The Titans Offense, coached by Todd Downing as Offensive Coordinator, showed that the former Raiders assistant came a long way from his first outing in 2017. Attention to detail with line blocking and timing was obvious. It’s something the Falcons could take note of.

The people who commented, for the most part, have no idea what an offensive coordinator does. Their words showed just that.

Stay tuned.

Stay tuned.

Now, news is reported with a smartphone and also by promoting current content on YouTube: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, or having a camera crew to shoot what is already on YouTube. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
