ONN – Oakland Coliseum JPA Focus Of RingCentral Naming Rights Scandal
The RingCentral Naming Rights deal was reportedly done with what one of my friends called a “kickback” and may result in major changes in the Oakland Coliseum JPA.
This story is developing, but it must be noted it comes just as the Oakland Coliseum JPA Board of Directors is set for its annual reconstitution. One of my friends explained that the entire matter was, in that person’s view “minor”, but that person ended our talk with the throw away line “Yeah, I expect to see some changes.”
The RingCentral Naming Rights Deal will not be impacted by this. It’s at $4 million, or $3 million with a one year option for extension. Some, including this vlogger, believed it was a good deal considering that both the Oakland Raiders and the Oakland A’s are set to leave the Coliseum, and the Golden State Warriors’ new home, Chase Center, has already booked talent that, arguably, would be set to play at Oracle Arena.
This space will not reveal the name of the person said to, alleged to be at the center of the scandal at this time.
Oakland News Now Note: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest version of an experimental Zennie62Media mobile media video-blogging system network. This is a major part of our new approach to the production of news media. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and also seek interested content and media technology partners.
