Maroon 5 just uploaded its Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show Preparation Video called “Maroon 5 – ROAD TO SUPER BOWL – PT.1” on YouTube, with Zennie62Media receiving the notification about seven minutes ago via email.
The video, which has done and uploaded to avoid a public press conference this week before the 53rd Super Bowl, already gained 6,544 views to this point in time, and reveals what appears to be a public relations deception on the part of the National Football League. Here is the video:
What the video reveals is that Maroon 5’s first rehearsal for Super Bowl LIII Halftime took place September 13th, 2018 in St. Louis, at the stadium once used by the St. Louis, now L.A. Rams. That date was well before the NFL let the public know Maroon 5 was the choice.
What’s interesting is that The NFL pushed back the official word that the halftime show of Super Bowl LIII will be led by Maroon 5 to December. News leaked out that Maroon 5 may, that is, may, be the Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show band September 20th. This video reveals that Maroon 5 knew it was the choice well before then, and it wasn’t rumor – they were deep into preparation for it.
Ducking The Colin Kaepernick Controversy
Maroon 5, is a pop-rock band from Los Angeles known for “Harder to Breathe” and “Moves Like Jagger” and will be joined by rapping ers Travis Scott and Atlanta hip-hop staple Big Boi, known for Outkast and his current work. Travis Scott is a rapper who grew up in Houston. Scott’s single “Sicko Mode” was a hit last year. Pulling together the group was a chore for the NFL because of the Colin Kaepernick Controversy.
Colin Kaepernick is the popular former San Francisco 49ers Quarterback, who led that team to a Super Bowl, and in total racked up a good record – then in August of 2016, Kaepernick elected to start kneeling in protest of police murders of black men.
The decision angered some NFL Fans, but it wasn’t made into a real national issue that divided the country until President Donald Trump, ever eager to divide America for votes, made it into a wedge issue. Trump then called NFL Players “Sons of Bitches”, fueling even more the controversy.
At the time, the injured Kaepernick was up to be resigned by the 49ers, who allowed his contract to wade into the waters of NFL Free Agency, where it has remained. Team after NFL team has elected to either try out and not sign, or ignore Kaepernick altogether.
That action and its communication on social media fueled a call for artist to boycott the Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show. Maroon 5, as it looks, was already a choice as far back as some time in August – but the NFL obviously worked to keep the news quiet in the face of protests.
