But you don’t have to wait for Monday, because Oakland News Now has the Oakland Cultural Plan right here!
The Draft City Of Oakland Cultural Plan has been online since March of this year. And the City of Oakland put the final version of the plan online in May of this year, and that is here.
City Of Oakland Cultural Plan called “Belonging in Oakland: A Cultural Development Plan,” is said to provide a roadmap to support and to lift up the role of culture in building a just and equitable city. The City of Oakland says it wants “every Oaklander in every neighborhood has access to cultural amenities.”
The Oakland Mayor’s Office says the tagline for the Cultural Plan is “Equity is the Driving Force, Culture is the Frame, and Belonging is the Goal” and the Mayor’s Office indicates how the plan was developed and suggests the foundation needed to strengthen Oakland’s cultural ecosystem and the city.
Building on the Plan and its vision, the Cultural Affairs Division will launch two new initiatives in 2019.
