The Oakland Whole Foods (located in the Adams Point neighborhood near Lake Merritt) at 230 Bay Place at 27th and Bay Place (or 27th and Harrison at Oakland Avenue), reopened at 2:30 PM PST and after a called-in bomb threat. Zennie62Media’s Oakland News Now blog broke the story, and based on confirmed social media posts (primarily Nextdoor and Twitter), shown on a Zennie62 on YouTube video blog.

Then, this blogger, after emailing Oakland Police Media and checking for updates throughout the day, called the facility and managed to talk to a Whole Foods Oakland store clerk who had just started his shift. The clerk explained that “I found out what happened as I was getting ready to come here to work. There was a called-in bomb threat, the building was evacuated, (Oakland) police came and swept the building, nothing was found, and so we re-opened at 2:30 this afternoon.

The Oakland Police Media have not responded to the email for updates.

After the building was evacuated, it was closed for sometime, as this Twitter account observed as if about 1:42 PM PST:

Then, as explained above, the Oakland Police looked for any signs of an explosive device, and then declared the building safe.

It’s has been open for business since 2:30 PM PST today, Saturday July 14th, 2018.

Stay tuned.
