Sheng Thao Gets Oakland Firefighters Endorsement, Francis Hummel In Oakland City Council District 4 Race

District Four Election Race News.

, who serves as the Chief of Staff for At-Large City Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan, sent this announcement that she secured the endorsement of the Firefighters in the District Four Race.

“I am extremely humbled to have the #1 endorsement of Oakland firefighters. As Councilmember for District 4, I will continue to work to protect our residents.”
Sheng Thao has also been endorsed by IFPTE Local 21, making her the only District 4 candidate to secure both endorsements.

Which is great for Ms. Thao, but guess who just entered the already crowded District Four Race, to make it, even more so: Francis “Matt” Hummel.

According to Zennie62Media’s Zennie Abraham, “I interviewed Matt when he ran for the At-Large Seat in 2016, and against the incumbent and re-elected Rebecca Kaplan.” Here is that interview:

And the incumbent, Annie Campbell Washington, still has her name on the Oakland Public Ethics Commission website list, even though she says she’s not running for re-election.
